I am the Clinical Director for Canberra Health Services ED. I have been in Leadership roles in the ED for more than a decade, having been DEMT and Deputy Director prior to my current role. I developed my love for Emergency Medicine after being exposed to strong role models and mentors when on placement at Tamworth Base Hospital as a student from Newcastle University. 

I started my training at Tamworth in 2001, then moved to Canberra in 2005 to attain Fellowship in 2008.
The last 3 years have taught me a lot about medical leadership in a large organisation. Within ED, we hold a unique space to exert influence across our organisation to optimise the quality and safety of the patient journey.

Noting the chaos and high risk environment that we work in every day, ensuring a positive work culture is the only way to sustain and retain our critical workforce.
