Marielle graduated in 1986 and started her career in Canberra. She became an emergency physician in 2000 after several years of trying different jobs and managing other life events. Marielle became the director of Emergency at Calvary ACT in 2001 and discovered a passion for staff care as well as patient care. 

She moved to Tasmania in 2009 and took up the position of Emergency Director of Mersey Community Hospital and North West regional Hospital. During that time there were many challenges in advocating for rural health and for all Emergency Staff but not always succeeding. 

Marielle has now moved back to Canberra and has taken up the position of Emergency Director of Queanbeyan Hospital and now also hopes to do more advocacy work for emergency department staff at a college level.
