Ruth is a dual Fellowed Emergency Physician/ Rural Hospitalist and a Certified Health Informatician. She has a broad interest in access to health care and has more than a decade's experience in being a provider of direct-to-patient telehealth as well as experience building and embedding telehealth services as the Clinical Director of a rural hospital and the Clinical Director of Information Services in a tertiary hospital. She was a founding member and current Chair of the NZ telehealth forum and advisory group. which is the formal telehealth advisor to Te Whatu Ora/Health New Zealand. She is the current Chief Clinical Officer of Whakarongorau Aotearoa which is the largest provider of Telehealth services in Aotearoa New Zealand including 24/7 free access to nurse/paramedic and doctor services
