Professional Bio
Michael is an Emergency Physician and Clinical Professor at Central Clinical School at The University of Sydney. Michael is also the Clinical Director of the NSW Institute of Trauma and Injury Management (ITIM) at the NSW Agency for Clinical Innovation. He led the establishment of a new research institute at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital called The RPA Green Light Institute, focusing on emergency and critical care translational research. He graduated from The University of Sydney with a Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery in 1997, and a Master of Public Health (Quantitative Methods) from Harvard University in 2011. He completed his doctoral studies in 2017 at The George Institute for Global Health investigating quality improvement programs in trauma. His research interests include trauma and emergency systems, machine learning, road trauma victims and the impact of population ageing on emergency service utilisation.
