Madeleine de Carle
Professional Bio
Dr Madeleine de Carle graduated from the University of New England in 2022 with a Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine. Madeleine is currently a junior medical officer working in the Hunter New England Local Health District. She also volunteers for the University of Newcastle, teaching critical care tutorials for final year medical students. Madeleine has a keen interest in research, having published her first paper “Does an electronic pathology ordering system change the volume and pattern of routine testing in hospital? An interrupted time series analysis” in the Journal of Clinical Pathology in 2023. Madeleine also led a pilot Australian study investigating antibiotic resistance in refugee patients, which will be presented at the WONCA (World Organisation of National Colleges, Academies and Academic Associations of General Practitioners/Family Physicians) conference in 2023. Madeleine is currently involved in several research projects investigating the aspects of the Assistants in Medicine Program across Hunter New England.
