Clinical Toxicologist and Emergency Physician - Northern Health
Professional Bio
Joe is a Clinical Toxicologist and Emergency Physician at Northern Health. He also holds an appointment at the Victorian Poisons Information Centre as a VMO Toxicologist and an appointment at St Vincent's Hospital Melbourne as a VMO Addiction Medicine Consultant.
He works both in the Emergency Department at Northern Health and as the Director of SPECTRE (Substance dependence, Psychiatry, Envenomation, Clinical Toxicology and recreational substances), a novel unit that aims to provide consistent care for some of society’s most vulnerable patients.
In addition, he is an occasional clinical researcher with interests spanning Cannabinoid Hyperemesis Syndrome, Toxicology, Trauma and Mental Health, and Acute Psychiatric Emergencies. Outside of work, Joe is a devoted father of two boys, a co-parent and enjoys exploring life and the wider world with his partner, Jess.
