Professional Bio
Fiona Reilly is a senior paediatric emergency physician and co-Director of Emergency Medicine Training at the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, with extensive experience in paediatric trauma and critical care.
Fiona teaches emergency medicine skills around the world, including in China and Pakistan. Fiona is also a writer and Narrative Medicine practitioner and teacher. She lectures in Narrative Medicine at the University of Melbourne, having completed her Narrative Medicine studies at Columbia University. Fiona obtained a Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing in 2016, and is currently completing a PhD in Narrative Medicine, researching the ways in which Narrative Medicine can foster a sense of connection and meaning in the work of senior hospital staff and mitigate against burnout.
