Ben is currently a PhD Candidate supported by the National Allergy Centre for Excellence. He has been an Emergency Physician for 15 years and a Retrieval Consultant for 15 years. Even though he works at a tertiary adult trauma centre now (The Royal Melbourne Hospital), he has worked his whole consultant career in mixed emergency departments in regional centres. His 15 year old son Max died from hypoxic brain injury after bronchospasm triggered by anaphylaxis. Ben is the creator of the AMAX4 algorithm and is passionate about Emergency Physicians being specialists in the core business of resuscitation.
